| The two boys holding the pom poms are going through a circumcision ritual where they parade through streets dancing, chanting, and collecting money and gifts in preparation of their upcoming circumcision within a day or two afterward. They are usually around 12 to 14 years old. Two of the RS women we were visiting joined in their dances and chanting. One was our RS president and the other in 70. It was quite amusing. The bottom picture shows 2 ibis birds which have long curved beaks and make a terrible squawking sound. |
